The team member at WhitePeak was engaged by the World Bank, to contribute to the Mid Term Evaluation of the ‘Zambia Agri-Business and Trade Project’ (ZATP), by formulating five analytical work models to provide recommendations to the project. The overall objective of ZATP was to contribute to increased market linkages and growth in agribusiness sector. A significant amount of academic literature, government statistical data, and alternate research sources were analysed, to provide recommendations for the project. The final document consisted of:
- Comprehensive study on the implementation efficiency of the project in terms of procurement process, contract effectiveness, and flow of funds.
- An extensive study on the labeling industry of Zambia, which included the existing challenges and recommendations to harmonize labeling in Zambia
- An extensive study on impact of external environment factors such as - inflation rate, exchange rate, bank lending rates, fuel cost rates, electricity production and cost of production, and agri-trade for selected value chains
- Document on COVID-19- Business Pulse Survey (COV-BPS), adapted for Zambia Agribusiness and Trade Project
