The ‘Government of Malawi’ (GOM), through the ‘Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development (MoAIWD) had entered into agreement with the ‘Multi Donor Trust Fund’ (MDTF) through the World Bank for the extension and additional financing of the ‘Second Agriculture Sector Wide Approach-Support Project II’ (ASWAp-SP II). The ASWAp SP II is a follow on to the ASWAp SP I. The overall objective of the project was to improve the productivity and market access of small-holder farmers for selected commodities at certain districts of the recipient’s territory. The proposed ASWAp SP II contributes to the World Bank Group (WBG)’s twin goals of ending extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity in a sustainable manner. The team member at WhitePeak was engaged by the World Bank, to formulate a project paper on proposed additional (Loan/Credit/Grant) for the ‘Second Agriculture Sector Wide Approach Support Project’ (ASWAp SP II).
