The team members at Whitepeak were engaged by Athena Infonomics, as a member of technical panel to lead the design of background note on agribusiness innovations. A significant amount of secondary research, literature review, key informant interviews, and independent analysis was performed to gather data which would inform the background note on “Innovation for Development for Agribusiness Sector”. The final report discussed on the following topics:

• Ecosystem and the environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, including private sector development and market-based solutions in agribusiness sector
• An overview of the development outcomes and indicators in the agriculture sector 
• Difficulties and challenges in creating sustainable development models in the agriculture sector
• An overview of the gender aspects within the agriculture sector
• Information about other programmes of a similar nature in the agriculture sector
• Information about the key partners and partnerships that Millennium Alliance (MA) can consider to look into
• ‘Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats’ (SWOT) analysis of the agriculture sector
