The team member at WhitePeak was engaged by the Government of Uttarakhand, to conduct a ‘Needs Assessment Study for Training and Employment of Women' as part of Uttarakhand Workforce Development Project . The overall development objectives of Uttarakhand Workforce Development Project for India are to improve the quality and relevance of training at priority Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and to increase the number of labor-market-relevant workers through short-term training in Uttarakhand. The study entailed extensive analysis of secondary information including analysis of secondary data; and comprised of extensive quantitative and qualitative analysis in the sample ITIs. The major sources of data collection included review of a variety of literature, primary research through interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and independent analysis of the data collected through primary research.
