The team at WhitePeak was engaged by Asian Development Bank to lead the design of the climate-smart value chain component of the Natural Capital Lab Project. The study was carried out through qualitative research techniques. Data from various secondary sources were collected, analyzed and presented in the report. The major sources for data collection include: Secondary research encompassed in-depth analysis of significant quantum of academic literature, independent analysis and other research sources. The final document included:
- A comprehensive value chain analysis of the Fisheries and Tourism sector in Sri Lanka and Cashmere Wool and Fruits and Vegetables sectors in Mongolia. This involved analyzing the impact of the value chains on the environment, and the impact of climate change on the value chains and providing recommendations to address the same.
- Design of a knowledge product on investment models to streamline and strengthen agribusiness value chains to increase job and income opportunities and to reinforce climate change adaptation.
- A thorough examination of successful digitalization models implemented for enhancing and digitizing agribusiness value chains in developing countries. This involved a comprehensive examination of successful digitalization models, their alignment to the identified Value Chains and mapping infrastructure requirements for implementation of the models.
